Food Nation Celebration

A hyper-local food festival fundraiser, showcasing the best food Davis Square has to offer.

3rd Annual Food Nation Celebration

What We Learned

Local restaurants want to be part of something bigger.

When participation creates meaningful visibility, customer engagement, or revenue opportunities, our restaurant partners are eager to support community-driven events.

The community will show up.

Whether the format is large or small, people are looking for opportunities to gather, connect, and celebrate the diverse cultures that make Somerville special.

Flexibility matters.
Adapting to changing circumstances and trying new approaches helped us identify what works, what doesn't, and where we can continue to grow.

Partnerships make the difference.
The success of Food Nation depends on collaboration between restaurants, sponsors, volunteers, community organizations, and residents. Each year we continue to strengthen those relationships.

Food Nation 2026: Reflections from Our Third Annual Celebration

We had a wonderful time bringing our community together for our Third Annual Food Nation Celebration.

This year was an opportunity to experiment, adapt, and learn. While every Food Nation has been unique, this event marked our most significant evolution yet.

What We Piloted

A smaller, more focused event format
A new venue and event footprint
Shared revenue opportunities with participating restaurants
A weekend-centered community gathering

Looking Ahead

Food Nation has always been about more than food. It's about bringing people together across cultures, neighborhoods, and experiences.

As we reflect on this year's celebration, we're energized by what we learned and excited to continue building an event that supports local businesses, celebrates our community, and creates space for meaningful connection.

Next year we will explore additional formats and potentially shift locations to support businesses in other parts of Somerville.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, partnered, and helped make Food Nation 2026 possible. We can't wait to see you for 2027!
