2025 Steph Aman Awards

Want to recognize an outstanding Somerville community worker? A young adult "Rising Star"? Show some love to those, long time or new, who dedicate themselves to the people in our city.

Stephenson Aman was a unique and inspiring community leader who dedicated himself to the young people of Somerville. Many people called him “Hollywood.” Following his tragic passing by suicide, we honor his legacy by recognizing Somerville youth and community workers in Stephenson's name.

He was a father, a mentor to many, and a friend to all. In his too-short life, he served as Student President of Bunker Hill Community College, President of the Mystic Tenants Association, a Director of the Somerville Education Foundation Board, and a candidate for Somerville City Council.

In his honor in 2022, the Somerville Foundation recognized in his name Sonia Barahona, Fluffy Bergmann, Stephanie Cordova, Jabir Ducasse, Melanie Kessler, Dr. Daniele Lantagne, Andrea Lizama, Milla Maia, Mary  Marshall, Heather McCormack, Danny McLaughlin, Diana Posada, Lisa Robinson, Kevin Roy, Beverly Schwartz, and Larry Siraco.
